Wild Elderflower
Our wild elderflower has a delightful aroma with slight sweet closing notes and is foraged at 2,200m above sea level from the forest of Odzun, in the Lori region of Armenia, by hand. Compared to standard elderflower, our elderflower is more pungent in aroma and more delicate in taste, due to altitude and purer growing conditions.

Description
The name ‘elder’ is derived from the Anglo-Saxon word ‘æld’, meaning fire as the hollow stems of young branches would be used to encourage fires. Elderflower is native to Europe, Northern Africa, and Western and Central Asia, with a long history of traditional medicinal use among European herbalists, documented in the writings of Hippocrates, Dioscorides, and Pliny the Elder. Medieval Armenian herbalists would use elderflower as a remedy for treating cold and flu symptoms, as well as improving immunity during the sickness. At present, elderflower is used in traditional medicine as an herbal remedy for the treatment and prevention of upper respiratory tract infections and other symptoms associated with colds and the flu.
Our wild elderflower is harvested 2,200m above sea level from the forest of Odzun, in the Lori region of Armenia, by hand. Our elderflower has been blended with our linden by the monks of the Sanahin Monastery, Armenia, for one thousand years, to create healing brews. In fact, Sayat-Nova the infamous Armenian poet, musician and ashugh, who had compositions in a number of languages, studied in Sanahin Monastery and was offered this concoction by the monks whenever he felt under the weather. Compared to standard elderflower, our elderflower is more pungent, due to altitude and purer growing conditions, and has a delightful aroma with slight sweet closing notes.
Elderflower infusion may be drunk hot or ice cold, and may be used in cocktails, mocktails and recipes. Find the recipe for our stunning Elderflower O’Clock mocktail here.

As I don’t drink alcohol I felt a bit left out when everyone was having Pimms. My host made me a chilled drink with this instead and it tasted fantastic. Didn’t feel sad and got myself a couple pouches.
Sarah Pearson –
Never tried Elderflower tea but now I can’t stop drinking this amazing tea. Great warm or cold so it’s all year round drink. Am big fan now.

This is personally my favourite! The smell is immediately noticeable and I drink it alone during evenings to relax or with the company of friends to have a nice herbal tea for guests when they visit.

We got the chamomile and elderflower teas as a gift. First of all, lovely packaging and design but most importantly the teas were delicious! Will definitely buy again and try other varieties next time!
